Spring ~ The Season for New Beginnings In New England, I used to notice how the month of March arrived….was it like a lion, or a lamb? Most of the time, March came in with the roar of a lion still in the midst of winter, and left with the bleating of a lamb, and the promise of spring. Here in California, I have already experienced moments of spring with daffodils blooming, and emerald green hills, and the month of March has just begun. March is the month to plant those seeds for new beginnings. In the winter, we let go of the previous year, and go inward to contemplate and consider what we would like to create in the springtime. Barbara Hand Clow, a fellow astrologer, has a great method for manifestation. She uses the method every spring to manifest her dreams for that year. First, take the time to be still, and in your quiet contemplation, make a list of three to nine items that you would like to have or create, and state clear timelines and circumstances around these dreams. Be as clear as you can be, and select items that are in your best interest, and that don’t manipulate others such as your desire for a certain person. It is wiser to describe the partner that you are seeking without asking for a specific person. Once you have the list, follow the below technique for each item on your list: 1. Place the image of what you want to create in your mind, and be as clear as you can with the time, the conditions, and the changes that would come from having this dream come true. Next, ask yourself the question, “If I could have this dream, would I want it?” Sometimes, you discover that it’s not something that you really desire at this time. In this process, you can clear your mind of what you don’t want, and begin to get clearer about what you really do want in your life right now. 2. Next, hold the dream in your mind, and do three visualizations of scenes that portray the creation happening in your life. For example, if you are seeking your “dream” home, envision what it looks like and feels like, and see yourself there in three different ways. Close your eyes, and picture it in your mind’s eye, and hold the image like on a movie screen, and strengthen it visually as much as you can, and then go onto the next scene, and follow the same process. 3. Once, you have visualized all three scenes of your chosen dream, then you can choose to speak some words such as “so be it!” or “manifest on all levels, now!” Follow the same technique with your other dreams, and then place the list in a special place, and allow the dreams to manifest. In a few months, or even a year, you can look back at the list, and see what has been created. Whenever, you feel stuck, you can get out the list and re-charge it again by following the same technique. Barbara Hand Clow has practiced that technique for many years, and has been amazed at how her dreams have manifested. Last spring, I followed her manifestation process, and wrote down my dreams, and followed her visualization techniques. I also added a chosen rock or crystal for each dream to make them more real, and then placed my list of dreams in a gold envelope in a special box. I practiced this technique on the first day of spring last year. This year, in the first week of March, I decided to look at my list after only glancing at it once during the year. It turns out that two of my dreams did come true. First, I published my first book, The Healing Path of the Romantic, in the fall of 2009, the harvest time of the year. Secondly, I became more involved with Gather the Women, an international women’s group, and led a couple of women’s circles during the year. My other two dreams are still works in progress, and I will be adding them again to my new list for the spring of 2010. I invite you to try out this technique, and see where it may lead. You may be pleasantly surprised at how your dreams manifest in the coming year. The first day of spring is March 20, 2010 when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. Take the time to plant your “dream” seeds for the coming year, and you could be amazed at how they grow. Blessings, Donna The Last Night of the Mayan Calendar Began on November 8, 2009 & runs thru November 3, 2010
We are entering another time period in the Mayan calendar on November 8 as we move into Night Six which is ruled by the Mayan god, Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, better known as the god before dawn. The night is often at its darkest just before the light of dawn breaks, and so it is right now, on the planet as we move through the final breakdown of the world as we know it. According to the Mayan Calendar, we are now in the Galactic Underworld where one of the most important lessons for the world has been around Ethics. In the coming Night Six from November 8, 2009 to November 3, 2010, the world will be experiencing a further breakdown and transformation of all unethical structures. The Nights in the Mayan calendar are always times of adjusting and integrating all that came to light in the times of the previous Days. As we near the end of the Mayan calendar, we are faced with what feels like the speeding up of time. It is really the speeding up of this evolutionary cycle which began 16.4 billion years ago with what the scientists have labeled as the Big Bang. Through the different underworlds of the Mayan calendar, you can literally follow the evolution of this planet. How the Maya knew all this, and were able to record it is still a mystery. Mayan calendar experts like Carl Calleman, and the late, Ian Xel Lungold, have dedicated their lives to this research, and have compiled quite a bit of evidence to indicate that the true ending of the Mayan calendar is on October 28, 2011, and not December 21, 2012 as first thought. 2012 will still be a pivotal year as a celebration of this full flowering of a new level of consciousness, a unity consciousness. That is why this time in history is so important to be able to join with others in consciously co-creating this new world that awaits us. It is in our hands, and up to each one of us to contribute our individual gifts to creating this new paradigm on the planet. In his books, and on his website, www.calleman.com , Calleman provides a lot of research, and tools in how to navigate this important time in history. The late, Ian Xel Lungold’s lecture/video, The Mayan Calendar Moves North, is still a classic in explaining this evolutionary process as it unfolds in the Mayan Calendar. His video is available on www.mayanmajix.com Both men see these last two years of the Mayan Calendar as a time where our most important tool is going to be our intuition. As time seems to speed up, our minds will not be able to keep up with the pace of creation, and that’s where we will have to rely more and more on our intuition to guide us to our next step on our personal path. In the coming year, I will be running another Mayan Calendar Circle through Gather the Women of Nevada County, where we will explore the calendar in these last two years, and how we can utilize it in our own lives. I encourage all of you to discover the importance of this calendar for yourself, and to gather in your own circles to find meaning and support through community. These changing times are going to continue to be challenging for all of us, and community can help us to ride these waves of change together. If you’re interested in the upcoming Mayan Calendar Circle for women, please check the Classes & Groups page of my website, and upcoming newsletters for the dates of the new circle coming in 2010. The Rebirth Celebration of May 9 – 11, 2009 The midpoint of Day Six of the Galactic Underworld of the Mayan Calendar Many people around the world are participating in a Global Meditation on May 9 – 11, 2009 to celebrate the midpoint of Day Six of the Galactic Underworld which began on November 12, 2008, and runs through November 7, 2009. This meditation’s goal is to focus on the creation of a sustainable economy. It means looking within at who we need to be in order for this to happen. With a spirit of sharing, collaboration and compassion, we together can consciously co-create this new paradigm. Through Gather the Women, I have been leading a Mayan Calendar Circle to bring more awareness to this important calendar of the evolution of the human race, and the future of this planet. On May 12, 2009, I am beginning a new circle for women in the Grass Valley, Nevada City and Auburn area. Through reading the books of Carl Calleman and Barbara Hand Clow, and watching videos, we as a group explore the calendar, and how we can use its wisdom in our own lives. I invite you to contact me if you are interested in such a circle, and I also invite people who live outside the area to begin your own Mayan Calendar Circles. There are some excellent websites to help you get started including www.Calleman.com and www.handclow2012.com During these changing times, the Mayan Calendar can give you a “Big Picture” view of what is going on in the world. This continuing financial breakdown was predicted in the Mayan Calendar. As Carl Calleman writes, “To understand our current situation according to the Mayan calendar I believe it is necessary to first backtrack somewhat and look at what has happened at the most important of the recent shift points of the Galactic Underworld. A very important such was the beginning of the fifth NIGHT, November 19, 2007. In my book The Mayan calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness, written in 2003, I ended the discussion about economy (page 233) with a prediction relating to this point in time: “Regardless of what forms such a [financial] collapse may take it seems that the best bet is for it to occur close to the time that the Fifth NIGHT begins, in November 2007 [strictly speaking the 19th].” This prediction was based on the fact that throughout cosmic history the fifth NIGHT has been a time when the old order often has come to be destroyed. Today, as economists agree that the global economic recession started in December of 2007, we can in retrospect see how amazingly accurate predictions may be if they are based on the true Mayan calendar. Even if predictions from it are not cut in stone it will nonetheless tell us what time periods that are conducive to certain activities and frames of mind.” Now, as we move into Day Six, a time of Re-birth, there still continues to be intense energy which has been painful for so many, but these are radical changes that are happening on the planet. We are literally going through a breakdown of the old structures of the world to re-build a new paradigm. Like any birthing process, there is a certain amount of pain as we release and let go of the old. A sign of hope in Day Six as Carl Calleman wrote, “…came with the beginning of the sixth DAY – November 12, 2008 – when, with the election of Obama as president of the US a week earlier, an energy of rebirth can be said to have manifested. This is also what had been predicted to begin at that particular time, which is symbolized by Yohalticitl, the goddess of birth. Barack Obama notably happens to be born on the Mayan day-sign 9 Ben, which is identical to the birthday of the United States, July 4, 1776, and thus plays a significant role in the history of this particular nation, in that he thus creates a full circle. His intentions to rule with transparency and with a more friendly and egalitarian relationship to other nations is certainly a welcome contrast to several of his predecessors. A sense of rebirth of ethical values has thus surrounded him creating an opening for a global unity on a larger scale.” The election of Obama was a positive step on this path of evolution to a higher consciousness. And even though, many people still continue to focus on the recovery of a growth economy, there are others who see the bigger picture, and write that this may not be the future of the planet. As Calleman writes, “Another level of understanding is that of the cosmic plan where we are now in the Galactic Underworld, which does not have economic and technological development as its primary purpose. On the contrary, the Galactic Underworld is about broadening the human horizon to a holistic viewpoint where we show concern for all of creation and the whole planet, which the world’s economic system has increasingly come in conflict with. We thus have reasons to seriously ask if the world will ever again experience a prolonged period of economic growth although the media keep talking about when the recession will end and the bankers and rulers of the world, Obama included, are taking measures that they say are to this effect.” The future may look very different, and it may include a sustainable economy, something the planet hasn’t seen in 5,000 years. As Calleman writes, “This would mean a return to a non-dualist Garden of Eden in balance with the environment at a new and higher level, a transition that many will probably find very difficult and almost incomprehensible to grasp mentally speaking. We may for instance take note of the fact that no world leader or economist is currently advocating a shift to an economy that is sustainable. So far, few have even started to consider that there will be no upturn in the economy, and when this starts to dawn on people we may in fact come to witness all kinds of actions of desperation and social unrest taking somewhat different forms in different cultures. Many hierarchical structures are likely to collapse. Will a sustainable economy then emerge? Well, there is no answer to this in the Mayan calendar, simply because it depends on the choices people will make in the time ahead and what they focus on creating. In the perspective of such a collective choice determining the future of humanity, it however seems plain silly when you hear people claim that the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world from pole shifts, asteroids, natural disasters, sunspots or other physical events outside of ourselves. The reality is that the Mayan calendar describes the evolution of consciousness and for the future does not predict anything except for what emanates, directly or indirectly, from the human beings themselves. Another way of saying the same thing is that there are no “consciousness shifts” happening on this planet outside of ourselves.” Looking ahead to the next shift in the calendar to Night Six, beginning on November 7, 2009 to November 2, 2010, there will be more fine-tuning of this Re-birth. Calleman writes, “Any time of crisis fosters new creativity, which may take many forms of self-organizing collectives that escape the dominance of the ruling hierarchies. Moreover, if the downturn in the economy was predictable based on the Mayan calendar we have reasons to suspect that an intensified grass roots creativity will be supported by the Tree of Life in the time ahead. It has already become clear that in the current situation the old ways do not work for people in general and that something new will have to emerge. I feel if we do not understand this now, it will definitely be clear during the sixth NIGHT, November 7, 2009 to November 2, 2010, that the return to the growth economy is not possible. For this reason we are inviting you to participate in a global meditation on May 9-11 to focus on the creation of a sustainable economy for the first time in 5000 years. This is an intention that millions of people share, but it is an altogether different matter to see it transcend the growth economy on a global scale.” Joseph Giove, the Executive Director, of CommonPassion.org is also joining in this Rebirth Celebration. He also has followed the Mayan Calendar, and believes that it is guiding us towards a new world. Giove writes, “In fact, one of the more profound insights from the genius and insight of the Mayans is this: the energies that give rise to our manifested world change along a divine plan with which we can consciously align, and that by doing so, we move into greater perfection with the divine plan. In other words, the world that was is not what informs a new world. What informs a new world and our new lives are powerful forces continually emanating from the inter-dimensional, creative core and Intelligence of the universe.” His group has even created a simple mantra to be spoken during this Rebirth Celebration of May 9 – 11, 2009. This is how Giove describes it: “Inhale while looking up through the brow: I AM resonating with the Creative Heart-Mind of the Living Universe. Exhale and smile: I AM the Creative Heart-Mind of the Living Universe.” Giove’s predictions for this time period are quite clear. He writes: “Those who focus on what's falling away, melting, dissolving – on what is no longer supported by new evolutionary energies – may become despondent, fearful, scarce in their thinking, jealous of opportunities, possessive of their resources, and mindless to the consequences of their actions on others and on the environment. This is the very behavior that is no longer supported by the underlying evolutionary impulses. Any system of a personal, social, economic, political, educational, commercial or medical nature that was based on features of scarcity, separatism, greed, domination, control, imbalance, force, conflict, etc. have lost their energetic foundation and are dissolving back into the void as we speak. Amen and, respectfully, good riddance. What is emerging now…what is being supported by the new evolutionary energies are people creating systems based on collaboration, harmony, the implicit abundance of nature, egalitarian awareness, the explicit and indelible nature of interrelatedness, interdependency and interconnection. We may look around us with innocent eyes and joyously behold: 1. a massive proliferation of social networking that has infiltrated all aspects of society and commerce; 2. technology enabling collaboration that crosses geopolitical, economic and ideological lines; 3. a massive "greening" movement that is increasing awareness of our impact on the environment, with inspiring and creative programs being developed around the world to restore our balance with nature; 4. free and sustainable sources of energy that are slowly making their way into the common awareness; 5. new partnerships forming between long-time competitors; 6. software being developed "free" by global communities of programmers in "open source" models; 7. ideas being shared and new economic models proliferating in communities around the world, giving rise to alternative forms of currencies and exchange of value between individuals without requiring a central bank or government to control…or to demand a toll from each of us for the pleasure of their exploitation; 8. humanity collectively solving stubborn problems like hunger, poverty and contagious diseases without waiting for governments or other political systems. These holistic, collaborative, more balanced, more ecologically aligned creations are themselves an out-picturing of the new human consciousness informing these worldly innovations.” Through Giove’s website at www.CommonPassion.org, there is an on-going discussion forum where people can share ideas, and thoughts about ways to navigate these times of change.
